Yilki: In the Yalanji language Yilki means constellation of stars.  Stars are a powerful force in the physical and sacred worlds containing deep knowledge, wisdom and guidance to Yalanji Bama since creation.  Western society’s focus on the individual is symbolic of one star, and Yalanji society’s focus is on the collective – Yiliki.

Guludun: MBarbaram word for "Dove": Gulundun the dove is the Mbabarabam Watsonville people's totem.  It represents the core of YGT  - peace, harmony, wisdom and respect.

Tagai - Torres Strait Islander Constellation : The southern sky, viewed by the people of the Torres Strait, is occupied by the traditional constellation of stars that represent the ancient story of Tagai. As a guide to all that view him across the water region of the Torres Strait, the appearance of Tagai in the evening sky signalled certain opportunities for certain actions to be carried out on land and on sea.
