Kalkadunga (Kalkadoon) people made many types of stone and wood artifacts and tools. The main tool they were known for was their stone axe which was traded through the Dreamtime or Songline systems.

Kalkadoon Traditional Owner Colleen Sam said: "My uncles and cousins have artesian skills passed down from our ancestors, making traditional spears, stone axes, boomerangs etc. This knowledge is important as its connected to our traditional practices that come out of our Songlines, our dream times stories which enable us to look after our Country. "
